Kids Yoga

Kid's Yoga in the park is a four week fun interactive yoga program run by occupational therapist and certified children's yoga teacher (CYT), Jackie Shea.

Classes will be held at Alexandria Park, in Hunterdon County, Milford NJ. Meet at the Pavillion and then we will find a spot in the grass for class.

This program is for ages 4-8.

All abilities and children with special needs are always welcome!

The program is designed to promote the development of your child's coordination, strength and balance with imaginative themes, yoga breathing, yoga stories, affirmations and meditation. Each yoga sequence will be followed by a theme related craft to encourage the development of the child's fine motor skills.

Parents are expected to remain with the class and you are encouraged to participate with your child.  Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Prenatal Yoga

Much like other types of childbirth-preparation classes, prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing. Research suggests that prenatal yoga is safe and can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies.

Prenatal yoga can:

  • Improve sleep

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth

  • Decrease lower back pain, nausea, headaches and shortness of breath

Prenatal yoga can also help you meet and bond with other pregnant women and prepare for the stress of being a new parent.

Baby Massage

A group of parents and their little ones come together to learn the art of baby massage over a 4 week course, with classes lasting approximately 45-60 minutes once a week.  All the strokes are taught. The classes are taught in a warm comfortable environment to ensure optimum comfort for parent and baby.  Incorporated into each of the baby massage classes is a short talk on different elements of child development such as play, developmental milestones, social emotional development, sensory and reflex integration and simple play ideas on how to encourage development of these skills at home.  There is also time for snacks and chats among the group.

Cost is $120 for the program.
